About the Award

The President's Teachers' and Schools' Excellence Awards (PT&SEA) constitute the Federal Government's premier national recognition programme established to identify, recognise and reward outstanding teachers, school leaders and schools that have demonstrated exceptional professionalism, innovation, leadership, integrity and measurable contributions towards improving teaching, learning and educational outcomes.

The Awards complement the objectives of the annual World Teachers' Day celebration by promoting merit, transparency, innovation, accountability and continuous improvement within the education sector while recognising individuals and institutions whose exemplary performance contributes significantly to national development.

Implemented as an integral component of the annual World Teachers' Day programme, the Awards reinforce the Federal Government's commitment to recognising excellence, encouraging best practices, promoting healthy competition and inspiring continuous improvement in educational service delivery across the Federation.

Together, the World Teachers' Day Celebration and the President's Teachers' and Schools' Excellence Awards constitute an integrated national programme that recognises excellence in education, promotes teacher motivation, strengthens stakeholder participation and supports the attainment of national education priorities.
